Who is Lunic?

Somehow you managed to get trapped inside a school that has been abandoned since one terrible accident. Looks like in order to unlock the exit you need to put certain pictures inside frames. But who came up with this kind of challenge?

You need to find pictures that are hidden behind locked doors for which you need to find keys. Every playthrough everything is spawned differently.

What is the point of flashing the monster with the flashlight ? I mean, isn't that supposed to stun him after flashing him for x seconds ?

In my gameplay each time I'm flashing the monster, it didn't stop or slow him. So when I see him it's just the end and it's very frustrating :(

hi, big thx for the nice game. greetings from rosti 😘🙏

Thank you for playing and making a video!

(played the og version)

sooo many rooms.....one relentless unforgiving psycho, that's all u need for a terrifying experience. It was a rollercoaster ride. The man in the white shirt forced me to memorize the entire building structure and I did. I slowly settled in and at one point I was super close to finishing the game, only for him to run up to me and grab me by the throat.

Creepy atmosphere (even those plants got me), great sound cues, the dim lighting everything is really well put together.

PS - I didn't say anything good abt the game in the video cuz it took me forever to finish it. I just wanted to get it done and go to bed. Anyway, its a good thing u made the update and made it easier. Great job !!!

Wow, that’s awesome! I am really impressed that you have spent this much time on memorizing the building structure and trying to beat this game and even came back to it after several days.

Thanks a lot, this dedication means a lot to me!

This is a great game. The atmosphere of the school and not knowing where the monster is made me scared the entire time I was playing this.
(-1)

Thanks a lot! I’m truly grateful that you became one of the very few people that actually completed the game!

Great game, I liked it !! I wanted to ask if this game has a plot and how it relates to the title and who is running after the player. Overall a good game, you are great.

(1 edit)

Thank you! There actually is some kind of a plot although I didn’t really think about it that much nad just tried to create a feeling that there is an actual story. The guy that runs after the player is actually named Lunic, so it is where the title comes from.

(+1)

Хорошо, а почему он как slender man выглядит?

(+1)

он шизик больной на голову ему в дурку надо

(+2)

special thanks for the Russian language :D

The atmosphere is very cool)
I have a question: does the enemy hear any sounds that I make? For example running.
I will be waiting for new games and wish you good luck with further developments!)

(+1)

Thanks a lot! Yes, enemy actually can hear most of sounds that you make and that includes opening doors and going through plants and stuff, although it is rarely noticeable.

(+2)

ITS TO DARK I CAN BARELY SEE!!! But the game is still good I like it!!! 😎👍🏾🔥💯

Thanks, truly amazing video, enjoyed every second of it! I’m sorry it was too dark for you, but you could’ve adjusted gamma in options!

(+1)

REALLY DANG SORRY MAN I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST LIKE THAT I'M SORRY ):

(+2)

HOLY CRAP!!!!

Thanks for playing!

Hi, first of all I would like to congratulate you on the game itself, very well done... however... I had a lot of difficulty playing it... at first the demon is very fast, which makes it impossible to escape, and I i think the keys shouldn't be so hard to find, maybe if you slow down the monster or make it disappear for a few seconds after using its flashlight, the game would be 200% better, hugs <3
(+2)

Thanks a lot for feedback, I appreciate honesty a lot more than the comments where people write only nice things just not to offend developer.

By now I recognize that the keys are very frustrating to search for but couldn’t really come up with a solution to this. I initially built this huge building and only later realized that it would be too hard to find the keys so I tried to implement sound signals and this screen blink thing but as I can see now it wasn’t a 100% solution.

I don’t know about the monster, it is really hard to balance him because I’ve seen people who have no problem running away from him and also people who are too scared to even try to run or hide, the main problem I see is that people don’t really know what they should do and how they should play.

(+1)

IMO the monster is in a good place, the only issue it has is once it's near the player, it won't leave the proximity, which makes hiding kind of useless as he will most likely come back to the same room.

All that has to be done is after a while of being in the proximity, it'll go out of the range for a little while to give the player a chance to leave and go on their way.

I also think it should be a little bit more clearer that the flashlight can slow the monster down as the drawing on the wall can be missed easily.

Player is also faster than the monster without putting any paintings on the puzzle, so it's just about players getting used to the environment and learning how the enemy works.

(+1)

I really appreciate the fact that you’re still here and that you’re writing all these suggestions.

In fact it kind of motivated me and I already released a small update where I made that the enemy when in proximity will have a slowly increasing chance to go on his way and made the flashlight hint drawing large (couldn’t think of anything original that doesn’t require much effort).

(+1)

Those are great news, just make sure to keep the difficulty of your game where you want it and not go off the rails just to make it easier for others.

(+1)

Is there a way to hide from the monster? Like I was crouched in rooms but he always knew where I was, I think it would be a good idea if you make it clear to the player how to hide or implement a way to hide if you don't have one yet.

(+1)

There is no actual hiding mechanic, you just hide by getting under tables, hiding in closets, hiding behind different obstacles or in plants.

Looks like he found you because he was just inspecting the room and saw you or you got unlucky enough to be at exact location he was going towards.

(+2)

The game looks very good and fun. Thank you!

(+1)

Thanks, I’m glad you liked it.

I really think the atmosphere and idea of this game is incredible. That being said I need to say that I played for over an hour and never found one painting at all. Maybe I just ran by them without noticing, but it felt very difficult that I couldn't find a single one, and also the fact that 90% of the time the creature knew where I was. That being said, I still think this game is worth playing for yourself due to it's out of nowhere jumpscares and panicky feeling of it! GOOD JOB DEV! I left a few notes at the end of the video that might help this game become stronger in the future!
(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing my game!

It was so painful to see you struggling like that. Have you never found any keys? When you find a key there is a symbol written or drawn on a keychain of the door that it can unlock. After you unlock the door with a key there will be the flickering painting. Maybe you got unlucky because doors are randomly chosen to be locked and key positions are random too.

If you are interested you can watch masstortorogamer’s video, he collected everything and completed the game.

The creature actually doesn’t know your exact position, it knows your approximate position but I can see why you can get that feeling. Tried to balance it in a way that would make player anxious.

(+2)

The atmosphere is great

(+1)

Thanks for playing! Flashlight is actually always on the third floor of the stairwell you spawn in, in video you missed it at around 1:08.

(+1)

Damn i knew i have missed somthing xD

(1 edit) (+2)

Brilliant craft of a horror objective escape game, i really liked the cues the enemy gave when he enters the level and when he's around, also doesn't pose much of a threat if you don't put any paintings in unless you get cornered, overall. Loved it, took me a while to get used to the horror factor. Thank you for making this!

There is a bug where there is a broken door next to a room, you can interact with it to open and it goes through the wall.

Also an exploit, holding W and holding A or D will cause you to gain a significant speed increase, it doesn't change the experience for me, but understandable that you'd change it if you want people to have the intended run speed.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks a lot, I’m glad you liked it and to be honest really surprised that you’ve actually completed it. Also, light doesn’t really attract him unless it is pointed directly at him.

I haven’t noticed the door that goes through the wall in your video but if I find it i will fix it.

I don’t know how but I haven’t noticed this speed-increasing exploit during the development but I am okay with it being in the game (actually too lazy to fix it).

(1 edit) (+2)

16:44 the door on the right next to the open room is the culprit, and it's fine if you don't fix the issues, you have already worked on it hard enough and it really plays pretty well enough. Could just leave it there for the heck of it or just let people use it if they discover the exploit, doesn't hurt anyone.

I actually checked other people play it and didn't see them finish the game so that motivated me even more to finish the game, while i do still finish short games if i can. That just gave me an even bigger reason to do so.

(+1)

I’m happy you got motivated to finish it. I really appreciate this very detailed feedback and the effort you put in completing the game.

(+1)

Of course, thank you again for the game and hope we'll see more of you later.

(+1)

I really like this one, it's pretty creepy and the monster that follows you is now fixed, so I finally can finish the game! 10/10

(+1)

Thanks a lot for feedback, LitozZ.

so creepy

Thanks!

Fantastic short horror. I did enjoy myself a lot. I had some issues with the AI, but further in the game I did found it to be less and less of an issue. Good mechanics, great gameplay. solid 10 for me. Great job developer.

(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing!

(+2)

Seems like the flashlight defense works once but after that monster just powers through it. Otherwise pretty creepy and fun.

(+1)

Thanks for feedback! Light just slows the monster down, the first reaction you got from monster is kind of rare and is a result of “menace gauge” reaching certain threshold. For some reason didn’t think that it can confuse people. You are right, the goal was to collect keys to unlock classrooms where you can find pictures that you put in those frames at the beginning.

(+1)

Thanks for the reply. I am glad I was on the right track at least.

(+2)

Very good creepy game I couldn't figure out how to avoid the thing that was chasing you though.

(+1)

Thanks for playing. You can either run or hide from that thing. It is actually fairly easy to just run away from it at the stage of the game you were stuck at.
